Last weekend we had the pleasure of attending the 2nd Annual Motorcycle Film Festival in Brooklyn, NY. While we absolutely love any excuse to go to New York, this year’s festival was especially exciting for us, because our video, Why I Ride “Passion At Work” was picked as an official selection! We packed our bags, hopped on a plane with our buddy Matthew Work who was featured in the video, and flew across the country to take part in this awesome event!
The festival was held at The Gutter, a cool Williamsburg bar with a vintage 8-lane bowling alley, outfitted with a photo booth, and an outdoor brick pizza oven for the event. Seeing all of the motorcycles parked outside really got us amped up for the event, so we grabbed a few beers and sat down to watch all the great work that was screened.
The place was packed out to standing room only! We were most excited to check out the sneak preview of On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter (by the way, it was awesome!) We also ran into our pal Leslie Padoll who worked with us on the 2nd episode of Why I Ride, and her friend, fellow ‘Missfire’ Lynda Lucas. It was really fun catching up with them in Brooklyn again, as well as meeting the other bikers and filmmakers who were there for the screening.
The next night, after all of the screenings, we ran to catch the subway and hit up another Brooklyn bar called simply, The Long Island Bar. Renowned mixologist Toby Cecchini is a long-time friend of Matt’s and we heard that he could mix one heck of a drink.
The rumors were true! Mr. Cecchini was an amazing host to us, offering us nothing but the most delicious cocktails we’d ever had. Legend has it, this is the man responsible for single-handedly reviving the Cosmopolitan’s popularity back in the 1980’s. If anyone could do it, we’re sure it must’ve been this guy. Did we mention the deep fried cheese curds??
It was great seeing some of our old friends, and meeting new ones out in the Big Apple! Thanks to Corinna, Paul and Jack for throwing an awesome party, and if you’d like to find more information about the Motorcycle Film Festival, check out their website at www.motorcyclefilmfestival.com. We can’t wait to go again next year!
